Chad Daybell Found Guilty in Zombie Murder Trial
Daybell Convicted of Killing Ex-Wife, Stepchildren
Chad Daybell has been found guilty of killing his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, and his stepchildren, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan. The verdict concludes Daybell's nearly two-month trial in the deaths of the three victims in 2019. Daybell was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of Tammy Daybell and Vallow, who were found dead in Chad Daybell's Fremont County home in 2019. The jury also found Daybell guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of insurance fraud in connection with the deaths.
Jury Deliberations Continuing in Separate Trial
Daybell is also facing charges in a separate trial for the deaths of Vallow's biological father, Charles Vallow, and his second wife, Lori Vallow Daybell. Jury deliberations in that trial are ongoing. Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow Daybell are both members of a doomsday cult known as Preparing for Change. Prosecutors believe that the murders were part of the couple's plan to start a new life together.
